Feeding the Discerning Canine

Kenzie was a Cocker Spaniel who ate all kinds of stinky things. She snacked on
molding leaves, dusty mops, gardening gloves — even cat poop. And yet, when the
breakfast bell rang, she was discerning. She wouldn't touch her dog food — it sat
there all day and night, a small mountain of brown, dry lumps. That is how Kenzie's
owner got into the habit of cooking the dog breakfast each day. It started with
leftover scrambled eggs dumped into the bowl and then evolved into a kind of dog
food Eggs Benedict, with creamy Hollandaise sauce topping the kibble, a spring of
parsley on the side for freshness. (Of course, Kenzie ate the good stuff and the
hard, dry kernels went down the disposal.) Now we're not ones to get all judge-y,
but we will tell you that if Kenzie had sampled Eukanuba, we're pretty certain her
owner could have left the French cuisine to Julia Child. That's because we taste

Fresh, Natural Ingredients

What sounds better to you: frozen boxed pizza or a pie made with fresh tomato sauce,
garden-grown basil and a wood-fired crust? Hard choice, right? We know animals also

with protein from fish, chicken and lamb (unlike other brands that use vegetable

Asking the Dogs

While our nutritionists make a tasty formula, we know that they are, well, human. Kibble
perceived by them to be palatable for a dog may not be quite right for the canine taste
buds. So, we take our meals to dogs directly and ask them what they enjoy. We test our
foods religiously with the consumers — Beagles, Poodles and German Shepherds among
others — on a continuous basis to make sure the product is just right.
