West Highland White Terrier Breed Story
Terriers were originally bred, mainly in the British Isles, during the Middle Ages for hunting smaller rodent and vermin such as rabbits and rats, foxes, badgers and otters. They were expected to hunt above and below ground. Brave and tough, the West Highland Terrier was considered intelligent, trainable and independent enough to work out of sight and sound of their masters. Their small heads, powerful jaws and short muscular legs meant they were perfectly adept at digging out and vanquishing prey.
